Schicksal von Duke Nukem besiegelt Spiele

"Always bet on Duke" scheint für Gearbox zumindest vor Gericht immer Gültigkeit zu haben: Als Interceptor im Februar 2014 mit Duke Nukem: Mass Destruction anfing, klagte Gearbox gegen 3D Realms und in Folge dessen erfolgte die Umwandlung zu Bombshell. Nun wurde ein gemeinsames Statement von allen Parteien veröffentlicht:

Gearbox Software has voluntarily ended its litigation against Interceptor Entertainment and 3D Realms, and wishes to keep the terms of its settlement confidential except to confirm that Gearbox Software is the full and rightful owner of the Duke Nukem franchise.

Damit ist Mass Destruction aka Survivor endgültig Geschichte. Passender Kommentar dazu:

Something really nasty must have happened in that courtroom. Fred walked in with the old game and (on paper) the rights to another Duke game. He walked out with a limp.

Und der Duke ist dem Gebaren von Gearbox fortan schutzlos ausgeliefert. :angst:
