However, increasingly, the event is being used to show new game content, both to the public and
behind closed doors. This year, the ever-productive id rumour mill mentions both Doom 3, playable
to the public for the first time, and interestingly, the full unveiling of the firm's latest multiplayer
offering, Quake 4.
