Story:

the Soviets still reeling from a crushing defeat, the Empire of the Rising Sun desperately trying to regain both honor and identity and the seemingly victorious Allies finding themselves in the midst of corruption and deceit within their own ranks.

The add-on was released on 03/12/2009, the boxed copy (which also contained a download code only) on 04/02/2009.
On 12/17/2008 the name "Uprising" emerged, on 01/08/2009 via announcement officially confirmed.

The "Commander's Challenge" is a new mode featuring 50 unique scenarios with nine commanders from all across the world and different difficulties.
One can steal opposing technology and use it during the next mission.
There are four new mini-campaigns: Allied, Soviet, Imperial and Yuriko.
It is the first standalone add-on for a C&C game, i.e. runnable without the main game and only available as a digital download.
An expansion for RA3 was planned from the get-go and mentioned together with the announcement of RA3 off the reel.
