Trivia:
- Fittingly for the 25th anniversary of C&C the first two titles Tiberian Dawn and Red Alert incl. all three add-ons The Covert Operations, Counterstrike and The Aftermath were reissued as a remaster. Sole Survivor on the other hand was not considered.
- Petroglyph as the worthy successor of Westwood took care about the implementation with the help of the original source codes and their own engine "GlyphX". All assets have been provided in 4K resolution by Lemon Sky.
- None other than Frank Klepacki has remastered the whole soundtrack setting it to music and additionally even rerecorded 20 selected tracks together with the Tiberian Sons. All in all the jukebox features over seven hours of music.
- Also Kia Huntzinger returns as EVA and had her notifications recorded anew. It was no longer possible in regards to Martin Alper for Red Alert, since he had already passed away in 2015.
- There are many bonus contents to unlock including but not limited to unreleased pieces of music, four hours of behind the scene recordings and finding from Joseph Bostic's personal vault.
- The original FMV recordings were nowhere to find, so that the videos being in VQA and M-JPEG format have been upscaled with AI. For it the once exclusive PlayStation FMVs are also included.
- For a limited period of time a Special and 25th Anniversary Edition was available by Limited Run Games until the 04/10/2020. However production delayed until Fall 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so that on 06/05/2020 only the digital release took place.
- The German censorship of the visuals are omitted, however the German dubbing with its adjustments back then remains. Frank Klepacki reported on 02/12/2021 in a blog about these particularities:
We had localized French and German versions in the original release, so we remastered those assets as well. The challenge was specifically with regard to the German version because in 1995 the games released there needed to be censored for violence and certain language if it glorified killing in any way. So, we noticed that some of the video's timing and content was edited compared to the English versions, whether it was parts of someone's speech or blatant visual gunshots that were removed. Nowadays this is no longer an issue there, so I was able to restore the original content to be the same as the English versions, with the German localization. Even though the English audio mixes could not be found, we did fortunately find the German localized recordings and were able to faithfully reinsert the missing speech.
- The remaster is indeed not the first C&C on Steam but for the first time with full integration, i.e. achievements, friend lists, trading cards and workshop with map editor.
- For the release the source code of TiberianDawn.dll and RedAlert.dll have also been published under the GPL 3.0 for best possible support of mods. On 09/10/2020 the map editor's source code was made available, too.
- Also the missions from the PlayStation and Nintendo 64 versions of TD are included in the collection.
